Air-Sparging

Air sparging is a method to remove volatile contaminants like VHH and BTEX from the zone of saturated soil by in situ stripping. Oil-free compressed air is injected directly into the groundwater through injection lances. The compressed air strips the contaminants from the groundwater and transmits them to the soil vapour.

Simultaneous soil vapour extraction avoids the uncontrolled migration of contaminated gas phase into other areas of the unsaturated zone or the atmosphere.

The oxygenation of the unsaturated soil zone creates favourable conditions for microorganisms and enhances the microbiological degradation of contaminants.

Subsequently, the extracted soil vapour is purified by activated carbon >> or the MINICAT >>.

For the intensification and acceleration of remediation measures, we also offer complete plants which are equipped with our fully automatic well management. system. Depending on the rate of contaminant extraction, the automatic control ensures the targeted selection of highly contaminated levels.

We supply complete systems which consist of appropriate compressors and soil vapour extraction plants with and without automatic level management.
